The first ever official UK beach dodgeball competition has been held in Kettering today, and organisers have said it was a success.
The tournament was played on the outdoor Beach Volleyball courts at the National Volleyball Centre, in Thurston Drive, Kettering, with five-a-side teams competing to be crowned champions.
The event was organised by the UK Dodgeball Association (UKDBA), which was recognised as the national governing body for the sport of dodgeball in December 2012.
UKDBA Director of Competitions Nick Pinnock, who is from Kettering and is head coach of Harborough Dodgeball Club, said: “We’ve got 10 teams here from all over the Midlands.
“It’s going really well, everyone is really enjoying it, having a lot of fun, and that’s what its all about.”
