A brave man has taken on a hair-raising fundraising challenge by getting his chest waxed for charity.
Martin McCarthy, a team leader at Oakley Hay Premier Inn, Corby, said he was nervous before the ‘wax-off’ but was determined to go through with it - because it was for a good cause.
Mr McCarthy had his chest waxed this afternoon as part of a fundraising effort by staff at the Corby hotel to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
It is part of a combined effort by Premier Inn hotels from across the country, who have been raising money for the hospital as part of their ‘charity week.’
The hotel will host a cake sale and sell raffle tickets until Sunday to raise further money for the cause. Donations for Mr McCarthy’s effort can be made by visiting the hotel, which is situated in the Southern Gateway Business Park.
