PEOPLE can celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at events in Wellingborough.
Residents at Attley Court, a Housing 21 sheltered housing scheme in Olympic Way, Wellingborough, will host a street party for all residents of Olympic Way on Sunday, June 3, from midday to 6pm.
There will be face painting, a bouncy castle and Jubilee games for the children.
A Caribbean steel band will provide music and the guests will enjoy a Diamond Jubilee lunch.
There will also be three prize-winning pieces of bunting on display which have been specially designed by children from Olympic Primary School.
A celebration of the Diamond Jubilee will also take place at Wellingborough Museum, in Castle Way, on Saturday, June 2.
Admission is free and there will be attractions including a Jubilee fairground with a coconut shy, hoopla, a tin can alley and hook-a-duck.
The Redwell School maypole dancers and members of the Gold Starz dance school will perform. The Wellingborough carnival court will be attending.
A competition will also be held for young people aged between six and 16 years to win the chance to light the beacon at the Old Grammarians sports field celebration on Monday, June 4.
