The victim of a serious assault in Rushden is expected to make a full recovery.

Police made an appeal for witnesses earlier this week after a 20-year-old man was seriously assaulted in the area of St Margarets Avenue in the town in the early hours of Tuesday.

Following the original appeal, a police spokesman said today: “The victim is expected to make a full recovery and the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.”

But officers would still like to hear from anyone with any information about the attack, which happened at about 3.45am on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the assault can contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
