Two men have been charged in connection with a number of recent robberies in the town.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of a robbery committed in George Street in the early hours of Saturday, October 1, as reported by the Northants Telegraph yesterday (Tuesday).

A spokesman for Northants Police said today (Wednesday) that this man has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers also arrested two men, aged 26 and 32, in connection with a series of street robberies that happened on the evening of Sunday, October 30, around the Oakley Road area of the town.

Shane Cruickshank, 32, of no fixed address and Jamie Taylor, 26, of Willowbrook Road, Corby, have both been charged with offences of theft and assault.

They were remanded into custody and due to appear at Northampton Magistrates Court today.
