It will be business as normal for a Kettering restaurant tonight despite all its windows being smashed with a sledgehammer earlier this morning.
Police received a number of calls from members of the public who had seen the damage caused at Mu Mu in Rockingham Road, Kettering, at about 9am today (Tuesday).
A police spokesman said nine windows and a door were damaged in the attack, which they confirmed had been carried out with a sledgehammer.
But despite the damage, Emily Di Fante who runs Mu Mu with her husband Gareth said the glaziers had been out and it will be business as usual from 6pm tonight.
And the restaurant, which serves burgers and pizza, will have a special on the menu tonight entitled the Malcolm Glazier.
Anyone tucking into this will get a double beef pattie, double cheese, double bacon, onion rings and barbecue sauce.
The chef was busy in the kitchen coming up with the special burger while the replacement windows were fitted and staff helped clear up the glass to show they will not let the incident bring them down.
Emily said: “Most of the customers booked in have rung up, but everything is as normal tonight.”
Police went out to investigate the damage earlier today and helped clear glass from the pavement outside the restaurant.
The police spokesman said a man had been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage following the incident.
