Two people suffered burns in a house fire in Corby in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Up to 20 firefighters tackled the blaze which severely damaged the bedroom of a house in Oxford Road, in the Willowbrook area of the town.

Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue reported answering a 999 call at 1.19am today (June 30).

A spokesman for the service said: "Four crews wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reels extinguished the fire.

"A bedroom and its contents were severely damaged by the first and two casualties were reported on the scene with burns.

"The cause is currently under investigation."
