Two rescued after arson attack at Kettering home

Two people were rescued from a home in Rockingham Road, Kettering, this morning (Thursday, February 13) after arsonists set fire to a bin next to their front door.

Fire crews and police officers were called to the scene, next to the junction of William Street, at about 7am.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Between 6.50am and 7.10am, a bin was set on fire outside the front door of the property and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around that time.

“Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.

“Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Northamptonshire Fire Service said they were called to the scene at about 7.10am and had rescued two people from the property.
