Two men armed with hammer rob Kettering supermarket

Two men threatened staff at a Kettering supermarket with a hammer before smashing open a till yesterday (Tuesday).

The incident happened at the Co-Op store in St John’s Road in Kettering shortly before 5pm.

After entering the store it has been reported locally that one of the offenders threatened staff with a hammer, which he then used to smash the till.

The second offender climbed over the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes.

It is not yet know how much money was stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen anything to come forward.
