Police are investigating after two vandalism incidents at Wicksteed Park in Kettering in the space of three days.

Two men were arrested after windows were smashed at a building in the park on Sunday, November 29.

And yesterday (Tuesday) a hay bale was set on fire.

Police are treating them as separate incidents.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Officers were called to Wicksteed Park on Tuesday, December 1, following reports that a hay bale had been set on fire inside the park some time between 6.30pm and 7pm.

“A number of fence panels had also been put on top of the bale.

“Fortunately, security staff at the park managed to put the fire out and investigations are currently being carried out by the police.

“In a separate incident, officers were called to the park in the early hours of Sunday, November 29, following reports that a number of windows had been broken at a building inside the park and fire extinguishers had been set off.

“Two men were arrested following that incident and are currently on police bail.”
