Two arrested after large quantity of Class A drugs seized in Wellingborough raid

Police have arrested two people and seized a large quantity of Class A drugs and knives following a raid at an address in Wellingborough.

Officers carried out the raid in West Street yesterday (Wednesday, February 3) and discovered 32 wraps of heroin, a large quantity of crack cocaine, drugs paraphernalia for cultivating cannabis and hunting knives.

A 24-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Both have been released on bailed pending further inquiries.

Sector Inspector Lara Alexander-Lloyd said: “This was an excellent result by officers from the cross-border team who were acting on intelligence received from the local community.

“We will continue to target those people believed to be involved in the supply of drugs and would like to speak to anyone can help us make Northamptonshire the safest place in the country.”
