Peak-time trains were delayed after a lorry hit a railway bridge.

At about 8am this morning, a lorry crashed into the bridge at the bottom of Rothwell Road, in Kettering.

Network Rail closed the bridge around 15 minutes later to carry out an inspection, but found no signficant damage.

The line was back up and running by 8.35am.

A Network Rail spokesman said: “There would have been some delays for trains passing through but things are now back to normal.”
