One dead and two injured in A6 collision

A 70-year-old woman has died and an 80-year-old is in hospital after a crash on the A6 near Burton Latimer yesterday (Thursday, June 6).

A black Peugeot 308 travelling towards the A14 collided with a silver Peugeot 206 travelling towards Finedon at about 2.40pm.

The driver of the silver Peugeot, a 70-year-old Rushden woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger of the silver Peugeot is in a critical condition at Walsgrave hospital in Coventry, while the female driver of the black Peugeot was also taken to Walsgrave hospital.

The fire service and road ambulances were also at the scene near Wold Farm. Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said four of its vehicles were in attendance.
