Network Rail said they are extending platforms 1 to 4 to allow newer and longer trains to stop.

This will create more seats for passengers from Kettering.

There is also work to trim back the platform canopies to make space for overhead line equipment.

Overhead line equipment will be used to electrify the line, which links Kettering and Corby via Bedford to London, as part of the Midland Main Line Upgrade.

The canopies are being refurbished and some lost architectural details will be reinstated based on historic drawings of the station.

Anyone who cannot make the event but wants to find out more can visit the Network Rail website or call the helpline on 03457 114141.
