Temporary traffic lights were installed as one side of the road became passable and the road was fully reopened by the end of the week.

But more delays were reported yesterday (Monday) the lights were back yesterday as engineers worked to replace damaged gullies.

A Northamptonshire County Council spokesperson said: “The road had to be closed for safety reasons last week but we were eventually able to reopen the route with two-way traffic lights which were then removed as the water subsided.

"Today work was carried out to replace damaged gullies and this also needed two-way lights."
