Commuting chaos as Moulton bypass opens and traffic builds

Traffic build-up is causing problems between Moulton and Round Spinney

Commuters can expect delays this morning as traffic problems are being reported in the area Moulton area.

The new Moulton bypass opened for the first time at 6am this morning (February 3) after part of the A43 was closed over the weekend.Traffic on the new bypass will be limited to 30mph from today until the road is completed in spring 2020.

AA traffic is currently reporting delays on roads around the bypass including on the A5076, A5123 and the A43.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Northamptonshire County Council is spending £27 million on removing traffic hotspots in the area. The first part of the bypass between Overstone and Moulton was opened in in early 2018.
