Another weekend with no trains for Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough passengers
Buses out in force as £1.5bn Midland Main Line upgrade continues
Rail passengers from Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough face another weekend without trains as work continues on a £1.5billion scheme to electrify the route to London.
Three new substations will be tested and a new 400kV supply point installed to feed power to the trains when East Midlands Railway's new all-electric services starts running through Northamptonshire to and from St Pancras in December 2020.
But that means replacement buses for passengers between Leicester and Corby and Bedford on Saturday (February 22) and between Leicester and Corby and Luton on Sunday (February 23).
