East Midlands Trains services to and from London are being severely disrupted as the result of a major signalling problem this morning in the Leagrave area, between Bedford and Luton.

The company said all services to London are currently subject to short notice cancellation and delay until further notice.

Passengers are being advised to expect major disruption to their journey this morning, and wherever possible to travel via another route.

East Midlands Trains tickets are being currently accepted on the following routes:

East Coast services on all reasonable routes

Virgin Trains on all reasonable routes

CrossCountry services on all reasonable routes

Network Rail engineers are on site working to repair the fault, however there is currently no estimate of when services will return to normal.

A spokesman for East Midlands Trains said: “Services on our network are being severely disrupted by a signalling problem in the Leagrave area. We would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this disruption may cause and would like to thank them for their patience as Network Rail works hard to restore services to normal as quickly as possible.”
