Train passengers travelling between Kettering and Corby were hit by delays this morning after the line was closed.
East Midlands Trains said a complete loss of signalling meant that trains on the service were unable to run between the two towns.
Customers had to travel using a replacement bus service, with the line re-opened shortly after 10.30am.
