Town hosts stars of games for service personnel

The Great Britain Sitting Volleyball team hosted a trial day at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering last weekend.

Organisers hoped to identify any players who could represent GB at Rio 2016 and beyond.

The centre, in the Kettering Leisure Village, also hosted the GB Invictus Games sitting volleyball squad. The Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style sporting event organised by Prince Harry for wounded, injured and sick service personnel, takes place in London next month.

The National Volleyball Centre is also the host of the Northern European U17 Championships, an international volleyball competition running from October 30 to November 2. To volunteer at the event contact Daniel Thompson at d.thompson@
