Let us know what you think of the restaurants in the comments section below, on our Facebooksite or on Twitter.

1) Italian - La Fonte, George Street, Corby.

This is a family-run Italian restaurant that took a gamble on Corby in 2011 when the town centre was still a nightlife vacuum. They are still going strong, five years later, and have made a name for themselves as one of the best restaurants in town. The risotto is lovely, and the pizza is always a good bet. 2) Polish - Gospoda U Braci, Occupation Road, Corby.

Think Polish food is all boiled cabbage and mashed potato? You’d be wrong. The fantastic food at Gospoda U Braci is creating a stir with locals and Polish people alike. The owners are friendly and the food is interesting, fresh and unlike anything else on offer in the town. It’s well worth a try. The extensive menu includes roasted shank of pork baked in beer, served with friend sauerkraut, horseradish cream, mustard and bread. Here’s their Facebookpage. A Corby staple, this little restaurant has been here for years. Its tasty menu and tucked-away location means it’s one of the town’s best kept secrets. Specialising in Mediterranean favourites, with a strong emphasis on succulent fish dishes, crowd-pleasers include the Dourada Grelhada - a whole grilled seabream - and Medalhoes Na Pedra: sirloin medallions cooked, by you, on a hot marbled stone at your table. Absolute top-quality Indian and Bangladeshi food. People come from far and wide to taste the beautiful food cooked up by the talented, and multi-award winning, chefs at the Royal Tandoori. In 1979 the Royal Tandoori was the first Indian takeaway in the county, and in 2005 they extended to a fine, 100-seater restaurant in Rockingham Road. You’d have to go a long way to beat this place. Our favourites are the tandoori mixed grill and the Goan fish curry. Here’s their websiteand their Facebookpage. Phone 01536 399700 for bookings. £££

5) Turkish - Meze, George Street, Corby.

They’ve barely been open a year, but the Meze grill in Corby is already one of the best-known restaurants in town. It was opened by Islam Chaudhury in August 2015 and offers a range of freshly-cooked Turkish food including the amazing chargrilled kebabs. The restaurant started out booze-free, but you can now take your own alcohol to drink while you eat your meal. Here’s their Facebookpage. Phone 01536 204040 for bookings and takeaway. £

Although the owners are South African, the food has a real American twist at RBW - which stands for ribs, burgers and wings. Part of a new complex centred around the Savoy Cinema, RBW is a real draw for young families. Meat is fresh and tasty and children eat for just £1 during the day from Monday to Friday. Our favourite dishes are the creamy mac & cheese and the peanut butter cheesecake. The milkshakes aren’t bad either. Here’s their Facebookpage. Call 01536 263189 for bookings. ££££

8) Greek - Olive, George Street, Corby.

This fancy Greek-inspired restaurant also serves dishes from the wider Meditteranean. It’s housed in a former Council office but the plush interior has been totally transformed to create one of the swankiest venues in town. To start, we love the mozzarella balls and popular main dishes are the Spanakopita - Greek pie - and the traditional mousaka. You can even order a load of starters and use them as tapas. Arguably Corby’s most established Chinese restaurant, Oriental Chois has all the Eastern delights a diner could dream of. Portions are healthy and reasonably-priced. There are dishes from across the Far East including some interesting Korean offerings. We think the best dishes are the chicken satay and the lamb in yellow bean sauce.
