It was another year of record results at Latimer Arts College.
The college was delighted to be able to share in student celebrations following the achievement of fantastic GSCE results today, which follow on from a superb set of A-Level results last week.
Despite concerns nationally about results dropping, the college exceeded last year’s grades, with students achieving 89 per cent 5A* to C grades.
This is 30 per cent above the national average.
Principal Siobhan Hearne said: “Last year our results improved dramatically and soared above the national average.
“We were determined to rise to the challenge of meeting this again.
“But we have gone one step better – we beat them and have delivered record-breaking outcomes.”
Along with the outstanding 5A* to C grades, the Maths and English results increased on last year and are above what other students achieved nationally.
The English results went up to 71 per cent with students achieving a 77 per cent pass rate in Maths.
Ms Hearne added: “There has been unfair criticism levelled at the college over the last couple of years and through all of this, we have remained committed, dedicated and focused on what we do best; that being caring for and nurturing our students to secure exam success.
“Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to firstly say well done to all of our students, whom we are very proud of and to wish them the very best of luck with the next stage in their life journey.
“In addition I would like to publicly thank staff, governors and parents who have contributed to securing these results.
“I look forward to welcoming those students who are joining us in Year 7 in September – you are coming to a great school where amazing things happen.”
