A large number of tools have been stolen from a building being renovated in a Northamptonshire village.

Police say the tools were taken during an overnight burglary last week in Easton on the Hill, a few miles south of Stamford.

The incident is believed to have taken place some time between 5pm on Wednesday, August 6, and 9am on Thursday, August 7.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said the building broken into was being restored, which is why there were a large number of tools at the property.

Officers have been undertaking house-to-house enquiries in the village since the incident took place.

Anyone with any information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
