An apprentice who has excelled in his first year at a Corby firm has been chosen to be an ambassador for a national campaign to help increase youth employment.
Tom Gardener, who started an apprenticeship at Spraylat International in Bardsley Road, Corby, in 2013, will become a local ambassador for Youth Employment UK.
He said: “I was nervous at first but my colleagues have been so supportive towards me, which has made me more confident. I am really looking forward to my future prospects with Spraylat and also furthering my education.
“I am really keen to help other young people with their apprenticeships.”
Spraylat managing director Andrew Keir said: “I’m delighted with the progress that Tom has made. The invitation to become an ambassador reflects his commitment and positive attitude.”
