Music lovers will be able to wave the union flag at an annual proms in the park event being held in Rushden.
Tickets are now on sale for the annual Rushden Town Council show on Saturday, September 1, with proceeds going to mayor Marian Hollomon’s charity, Rushden Mind.
The Rushden Windmill Band will be performing all the usual favourites, including Land of Hope and Glory and Jerusalem, and there will be a drill display by the 858 Rushden Squadron Air Cadets.
Cllr Hollomon said: “I am definitely looking forward to it – I do every year.
“I am a bit sentimental and I love the Proms.
“It has been running for a number of years and it gets more and more popular every year.
“The atmosphere also gets better every year.
“It should be brilliant.
“People can come along and sing along to the music. They can bring a picnic, blankets and chairs to sit in.
“There will also be extra entertainment this year as the 858 Rushden Air Cadet Squadron will be doing a drill display.”
Rushden’s Proms In The Park will take place in the Walled Garden, Rushden Hall Park, from 7pm to 9pm.
The gates will open at 6pm and admission is £5 per person, including a union flag.
Tickets are available from Rushden Town Council, Rushden Library, Jan’s Floral Boutique and PW House Jewellers.
