A Thrapston mum suffered serious injuries in a crash near Thrapston on Saturday afternoon (November 29).

The 32-year-old was airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham following the collision in Slipton Lane, close to the Samuel Pepys pub, at about 12.25pm.

Her Peugeot 206 was travelling from Thrapston towards Slipton when, for reasons yet unknown, it collided with a black Ford Fiesta which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Her two children were also injured. One, aged seven, was also taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, while an eight-year-old was taken by land ambulance to Kettering General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Fiesta, a 23-year-old man, was airlifted to University Hospital in Coventry.

All the casualties are expected to make a full recovery.
