Thieves escaped with a haul of electrical goods after reaching through a cat flap to let themselves in.

The burglary happened sometime between 12.30am and 8am on Wednesday (July 30) at a house in Prospect Avenue, Rushden.

Thieves managed to get in by reaching through the cat flap and removing the key from the lock.

They stole a variety of property, some of which was later found in a neighbouring garden.

However, they got away with a number of electrical items and officers are asking people to contact them if they are offered any of the following items for sale:

- A silver/grey Toshiba Sat Pro L500-1VT 15.4 screen with reference ‘LR25’ and a Lowther-Rolton sticker on the underside

- A black Samsung Galaxy 2, 7in tablet in a purple and white polka dot carry case

- A silver Fuji Fine Pix digital camera

- A Boden green leather ladies handbag

Anyone with information about the stolen property or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
