Thieves steal haul of cigarettes from lorry parked near Finedon

Thieves stole a haul of cigarettes from the back of a lorry parked in a layby on the A6 near Finedon.

The incident happened last Wednesday, June 24, between about 1.40 and 3pm when the thief, or thieves, broke into the back of the lorry and removed the stock.

The theft was discovered a short time later when the driver stopped to make his delivery.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “It was a busy time of day with a lot of passing traffic and officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the theft, or noticed anyone acting suspiciously, to contact police on 101.”
