Thieves wearing masks and armed with crow bars stole a substantial amount of cash after forcing their way into a building society.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery which took place at about 8.30pm on Monday, November 26, in Rothwell.
A police spokesman said: “Whilst security guards were accessing the Nationwide bank on Bridge Street, three men forced their way into the building and made off, on foot, up School Lane with a substantial amount of cash.
“The offenders were wearing masks and carrying crow bars at the time of the incident and one is described as a 25 to 26-year-old, 6ft 5in white man wearing black jeans and a black hooded top.”
