A teenager is in a serious condition after coming off a motorbike in Kettering.
The victim suffered a head injury in the accident just before 1am today (Monday).
Dr Leigh Bissett and paramedic Chris Hawkins from the Magpas Helimedix team arrived at the scene, in Ivy Road, in their rapid response BMW and assessed the patient.
They anaesthetised the man and provided specialist A&E care at the scene before accompanying him to Coventry Hospital by land ambulance.
On arrival at the hospital, they said the patient was in a serious condition.
East Midlands Ambulance Service and the police also attended the accident.
A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision in the early hours of this morning.
“The incident happened in Ivy Road, Kettering, when, for reasons yet unknown, the rider of a purple Yamaha XC125 lost control of the motorcycle.
“As a result the victim, who is in his teens, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Coventry with serious head injuries.
“Officers are encouraging anyone with information to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
“Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
