Teenager robbed at knifepoint

An 18-year-old man was ordered to hand over his mobile phone at knifepoint during a street robbery.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses following the robbery on Friday, April 27.

The incident took place at around 8pm on Shelley Street, Northampton.

The victim was waiting with a friend on the corner of Kingsley Park Terrace and Shelley Street when an unknown man approached and asked for a light. The victim stated that they did not smoke and the man left but stayed nearby. The victim then walked alone down Shelley Street and was followed by the man who approached him again, holding a Swiss army knife. He demanded the victim hand over his phone which he gave to the offender. The offender then walked back into Kingsley Park Terrace.

The offender is described as a mixed race man, 6ft tall and of slight build. He was wearing a dark coloured coat with the hood up and had a bright yellow draw-string bag over his shoulder.
