Teenager killed in Northampton attack is named

The victim of a fatal attack in Northampton has been named by Northamptonshire Police.

Officers have named the victim as 17-year-old Liam Hunt, of Northampton.

A second arrest, a 15-year-old boy, has also been made in connection with the investigation.

The 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday remains in custody.

A murder investigation was launched on Tuesday night following an incident in St George's Street and Aldbury Court, Northampton.

Det Insp Phil Mills, leading the investigation, said: “This happened in a residential area at 5pm when people may have been coming home from work.

“Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or seen people acting suspiciously in the area to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police on 101 or provide information confidentially via Crimestoppers.

Officers from the East Midlands Major Crime team are leading the investigation.
