A 14-year-old girl had her cheek scratched and hair pulled by two men during an assault in Kettering.

The teenager was cycling home at about 9.15pm on Friday (July 19) at the junction of Oak Road and Ash Road when she noticed two men in an alleyway.

A police spokesman said: “She turned round to cycle in another direction but, while in Oak Road, she had her hair pulled from behind and an unknown object was used to scratch her right cheek.

“No threats were made, nothing was said and there was no property stolen.

“The girl was let go and she cycled away without looking back at her attackers.”

It is believed both men are white and aged about 18. One of the men wore a light grey hooded jumper, possibly a Lonsdale brand.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
