Teenage girl inappropriately touched by man on train

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for witnesses after a man inappropriately touched a teenager on board a train between Market Harborough and Kettering.

The incident took place on Saturday, August 17, between midday and 12.15pm.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl from Nottingham, was travelling on the 11.03 Beeston to St Pancras service in Coach C. During the journey, a man, sat next to her and inappropriately touched her.

The victim alerted police and a man, a 25-year-old from Huddersfield was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has currently been released on police bail pending further enquiries

Detective Constable Simon Courtney said: “This was an upsetting and intimidating experience for the victim, who has understandably been left extremely shaken following the incident.

“If you were onboard the train at the time of the incident, or have information that could assist the investigation, I’d urge you to contact us.”
