A teenage dancer from Kettering is putting on a charity night to raise money for the Crazy Hats appeal.
Tom Martin, 18, will host his ‘evening of talent’ on Thursday, June 28, at Southfield School, from 7.30pm.
Tom, who has been accepted into the top Urdang Academy for rising theatre stars, also hopes to raise money towards his tuition fees by hosting the event.
He said: “I have dreamt of being a dancer ever since I was young. To help me achieve my dream I auditioned this year for a place at the Urdang Academy in London to study for three years full-time in all aspects of musical theatre and was thrilled when I was offered a place.”
“The tuition fees are more than £11,000 per year and I couldn’t get a scholarship. Paying for the fees is hard but you just have to do what it takes to get there and this will help a bit more. I’m also raising money for the Crazy Hat’s Appeal because my grandmother died from breast cancer before I was born so I never got to meet her and I’d like to help with that as well.”
Tickets cost £5 and are available from Tom or Kate Martin on 01536 518667, or on the door.
The show will feature performances from choirs and dancers, bands, Tom’s sister and his friends from Kilburn School of Dance in Wellingborough.
