A festival of fun where you will get wet, dirty and worn out is coming to Rushden – but it’s all for a good cause.
The Funfest community fun day will be held at Rushden and Higham Rugby Club on Saturday, June 7, and includes an It’s A Knock-out tournament with a range of games involving water, foam and inflatables.
More than 2,000 spectators attended last year’s event to cheer on the teams, which raised £3,500 for charity.
Proceeds from the event will go to Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton, Rushden Higham Rotary and Rushden Round Table groups.
John Helm, fundraising manager for Cynthia Spencer, said: “The games all involve an element of teamwork, dressing up, crossing inflatables, getting wet and covered in foam.
“There’s also plenty to keep spectators busy, not just the knock-out event, but also trade stalls, inflatables, crazy golf, barrel train rides, a barbecue and licensed bar.”
Prizes will be presented on the day by Earl Spencer, who is a patron of Cynthia Spencer.
The Funfest community fun day is free to enter and runs alongside the It’s a Knockout event, which starts at 1pm.
Businesses are invited to get involved and sign up with mixed teams of 10. It costs £350 per team to enter.
