Take part in a Paralympic sport

WITH only 200 days to go to the Olympics a county company is encouraging people in the area to try one of the Paralympic sports.

Horse feed specialist Dodson & Horrell, which is based in Islip, is the official supplier of nutrition to Equestrian Team GBR, which will compete in this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.

To mark its involvement, the company is inviting children and adults with additional needs from across Northamptonshire to have a go at horse riding at a special event at Moulton College on May 6.

Former Paralympic champion Lee Pearson, who is training hard for a place in the 2012 team, will be demonstrating his considerable skills throughout the day and hoping to inspire the next generation of Paralympic equestrian competitors. Riding for the Disabled groups will also help those who have not ever ridden a horse before and hopefully recruit some new members.

The event is open to children and adults with additional needs. For more details call 01832 737000.
