A GROUP of friends is planning a swimathon to raise cash for a little girl to have a life-changing operation.
Alison Dalziel and a dozen friends are inviting people to join them in the swimathon on Wednesday at Corby Swimming Pool in George Street.
They are raising cash for the Lexie Leggy Fund which will help four-year-old Lexie Fordyce to fund an operation in Missouri. She suffers from cerebral palsy and cannot walk. It is hoped the £40,000 operation will help her take her first steps.
Alison, 47, from Montrose Street, Corby, was inspired to raise the cash as her own father lost the use of his legs. To join in, go along to the pool on the day or call Alison on 01536 356792. For details about the Lexie fund visit http://www.wix.com/lexieleggy/fund#!
