The incident took place in Cromwell Road at about 10.30pm yesterday (Sunday), with police attending the crash between a black Saab car and a black Yamaha motorbike.

The 28-year-old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and later released on police bail.

A police spokesman said: “It was initially thought that the motorcyclist had suffered serious injuries but that turned out not to be the case.

“We are, however, still appealing for witnesses to contact us on 101 or the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.”
