Supermarket staff raised £2,000 to help a Rothwell boy left with a visual impairment after brain surgery.
Sam Dawson, four, cannot open his eyelids fully and has fixed pupils after he underwent an operation to remove a brain tumour last year.
Wanting to improve his life, staff at Tesco Extra in Carina Road, Kettering, organised a two-day fundraising event last week (October 27 and 28).
There were in-store visits from Peppa Pig, a tombola with prizes donated from local businesses and staff running on a treadmill to raise funds.
Services manager Leonie Freeman said: “Over the two days we raised £2,000 to help buy an interactive whiteboard to help Sam.
“Any money left over will be donated to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where Sam is still receiving treatment.
“We have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers.”
