Three women who have lost more than nine stone between them are to run their own slimming groups to help others shed the pounds.
The trio all joined Slimming World groups to lose weight and after achieving their goals, they are hoping to inspire others to slim down by running their own groups in Earls Barton, Higham Ferrers and Thrapston.
As Annette approached her 40s, her weight began to creep up and by the time she was 45, she was two stone overweight.
Being a hairdresser, she noticed her knees aching at the end of each day and she had the ‘classic muffin’ over her trousers.
When a friend asked her to join her at Slimming World in December 2014, she agreed to go along and hasn’t looked back.
Annette said: “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
Within six months she had lost more than two stone and dropped two dress sizes.
She said she is now a happy and healthy weight, she loves to run around with her three grandsons and no longer has achy knees.
Annette is launching the Earls Barton group at the Silver Band Club on December 30 at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
Fellow slimmer Hayley is also looking to help others with a group in Higham Ferrers.
Following the birth of her second son, Hayley decided it was time to change her life so she could become a healthier, active mum.
She wasn’t happy in size 14-16 jeans and wasn’t the happy self-confident woman she once knew.
Avoiding clothes shopping and nights out was becoming too much of a regular occurrence.
Hayley said: “The idea of walking into a group was truly terrifying.
“I didn’t want anyone to see how much I weighed.
“It wasn’t something I had ever shared.”
But within eight weeks, Hayley had lost a stone and 10 weeks later it was two stone.
In November this year, Hayley reached her target weight with a total loss of two stone 10lb.
Hayley’s group to help others lose weight starts in Higham Ferrers at 7.30pm on January 5.
Rowena McNally joined her local group in Thrapston eight months ago and has since gone on to win Woman of the Year and Miss Slinky in her group.
She has now trained as a consultant for Slimming World and is taking over the group on Monday, December 28.
Rowena said: “When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started.”
She says her weight loss has changed her life, and added: “I do not wake up with aches and pains daily, I can chase after my little boy at the park and I actually enjoy clothes shopping now and will have photos taken without needing to remove the tags of myself from pictures on social media sites as I was embarrassed at my size.
“I was so scared to join Slimming World it took me two years to build up the courage and now looking back I do not know why I was so worried, everyone is so welcoming and friendly and no-one will judge you.”
Rowena’s Slimming World group will be at St Johns Ambulance Hall, Thrapston, at 7.30pm every Monday from December 28.
