Students at The Kingswood Secondary Academy, Corby, visited a Gambian village where their help and support is changing lives.
Pupils, parents and staff at the school sponsor children in Penyem village through the charity Northampton Trustee Fund, helping to pay for education and medical care.
The school also raised £3,000 to buy the village an ambulance and mosquito nets.
A group of Year 13 students has recently returned from a trip to Penyem to meet the families they sponsor.
Diane Blakeston, one of the students, said: “I mostly remember the smiles from all the Gambian children.”
