The pavilion is a pile of rubble that will be removed from the site over the next few days ahead of construction work on the new Barwell Stand.

Next Monday will begin to see piles being driven into the ground as the foundation for the Barwell Stand’s framework, which in turn is planned to be built in July.

Saints chairman Tony Hewitt said: “The contractors have been working very hard and the Sturtridge Pavilion has come down very quickly.

“We are still very much on schedule and looking forward to the next stage of the development, which will see the foundations be laid for the framework of the Barwell Stand.”

The club has also revealed the most up-to-date computer generated versions of what the new Barwell Stand will look like, including the confirmed positioning of the two new big screens at Franklin’s Gardens.

A club spokesman: “One will be in the corner next to the Saints Ticket Office, with the other in the corner where the Church’s Stand will join the Barwell Stand. Although both screens are at the same end of the stadium they have been angled so that every spectator will be able to see one of them, if not both.

“The Barwell Stand has been very popular with supporters, and already over half the seats have been booked by Season Ticket Holders for the 2015/16 campaign,” he added.
