A strike which would have affected East Midlands Trains passengers this week has been called off.

The industrial action, initially called by union Unite, looked set to disrupt people using the operator, which serves Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough.

About 80 rail maintenance staff had threatened to walk out between yesterday (Sunday, September 28) and Saturday, October 4.

East Midlands Trains now says services will be running a normal timetable.
