Customers at a Rushden store are being invited to help staff members with some summer fundraising for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).
The WNAA is the regional charity for the Wilkinson store in Eaton Walk, Rushden, and staff at the store will be hosting a family fun day this weekend.
On Saturday (June 22), from 10am until 3pm, staff will be hosting a family fun day, complete with a bouncy castle, roundabout ride, hook the duck and a face painter, with the hope of raising money for the charity.
As part of the ‘Summer Lovin’ fundraising weekend, a tombola and lucky dip will be hosted in store and children will be entertained with an arts and crafts table, where they will be able to create posters, as well as being able to plant a seed to take home.
Jeff Young, the store manager, said: “Our Summer Lovin’ event looks set to be a fantastic treat for team members and customers alike. I’m very proud of my team here in Rushden as everyone is really enthusiastic about fundraising for WNAA and encouraging shoppers to do the same.
“We’d love our loyal customers to come along and join in the fun – they’ve always been a brilliant help with our fundraising events in the past and we hope our summer activities will help to raise an impressive amount.”
Tracy Grunwell, fundraising manager at the Air Ambulance Service, said: “We rely on donations to keep the charity going, so having such wonderful support from Wilko is a fantastic helping hand for us.
“We hope the team has a great time on the family fun day - all the money raised through this activity will help to make a real difference at the charity.”
