Still time to apply for jobs at Wellingborough's new crematorium

Wellingborough’s Nene Valley Crematorium, which is being built near to Great Doddington, is due to open later this summer.

A manager-registrar for the project was recently appointed but a number of other vacancies are still available for anyone wishing to apply.

The roles include events and commemorations advisor, operations supervisor and bereavement services support.

An advert about the vacancies which has been published on Wellingborough Council’s website states: “We are seeking caring, dedicated individuals who are knowledgeable and skilled, with empathy towards bereaved people; a team who are prepared to offer commitment in return for a good salary, conditions and prospects.

“There are a number of fantastic opportunities for those who are able to demonstrate the right behaviours, skills, experience and aptitude to support the manager in developing the new crematorium services for the company.

“Due to the unique and sensitive environment, you will be highly flexible, well-motivated, and have a calm and mature manner with excellent communication skills; all applicants must have previous experience of dealing with bereaved people or be able to demonstrate that they have previously worked in a caring profession.

“It is essential that the post holders have the ability to work both indoors and outside as some of the duties will include showing people around the site, looking after the building and gardens, and may involve walking on undulating terrain.

“You must be prepared to be part of a multi-skilled team and undertake any training considered necessary.

“Some weekend working will be required in all posts as part of the working week.”

The roles are permanent and the shifts will be part of a seven-day working rota.
