Steelmen fans look to set up supporter’s trust

A GROUP of Corby residents and Corby Town Football Club supporters are holding an open meeting with a view to forming a supporters’ trust.

It will be held in the council chamber at the Corby Cube at 7pm on Monday, April 23.

A supporters’ trust is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to strengthen the voice for supporters in the decision making process at a football club, and strengthening the links between the club and the community it serves.

The agenda at the open meeting will include presentations from Supporters Direct representatives, an example of an existing trust’s work from the chair of Cambridge Fans United, and an update from the current steering group. There will also be a question and answer session.

The group will be seeking a mandate to form a trust at the end of the meeting and are looking for the views of the people of the Corby borough, both supporters of the football club and the wider community to ensure the best possible way forward.

All is welcome and refreshments will be provided.
