Volunteers gave up their time to spruce up their pocket park.

A team of 18 volunteers took part in the spring clean at Desborough Pocket Park.

Their duties during the day included carrying out repairs, clearing overgrowth and planting spring flowers.

Organisers have said the day, which took place on March 7, was a success.

Keith Brown, one of the volunteers who took part, said: “The day was very successful with a good turn-out of 18 volunteers.

“We repaired the steps, planted snow drops and cleared the overgrowth over the stream.”

They also cleaned the dipping platform and made a start on clearing some brambles.

Desborough Town Council is responsible for the park and it is maintained by volunteers.
