Speeding drivers targeted in villages

Police have carried out an operation to target speeding drivers in villages near Wellingborough.

Officers from the Wellingborough rural safer communities team recently conducted a 16-hour speed enforcement operation at Earls Barton, Sywell, Wilby, Wollaston, Irchester and Finedon.

During the operation, officers issued seven fixed penalty tickets and a number of warnings to drivers of vehicles exceeding the speed limit.

A police spokesman said: “We have been supported in this priority by officers from our Safer Roads Team who regularly attend Earls Barton, Wollaston, Irchester and Finedon to carry our speed enforcement checks using a mobile camera van.
