A mayor has given out numerous awards to say thank you to volunteers and dedicated workers who make a difference in their community.

The awards were presented by Raunds mayor Cllr Helen Howell at the town’s annual civic service held at St Peter’s Church on March 19.

Mayors and chairmen from across the county joined Cllr Howell for her service dedicated to the Raunds community and the great work done by its many volunteers and dedicated workers.

She presented citizens awards to people from the area who had been nominated for the good work they do.

The citizens awards went to:

Michael and Ben Nardone - in thanks for their time, dedication and performance at the mayor’s fundraising events

Geoff Dyne - in recognition of his organisation of the Warth Park Opposition Group and community spirit

Peggy Day - in recognition of services to the youth of Raunds

Karen Seamarks - in recognition of care provided to her daughter Alexis

Richard Haseldine - in recognition of his service and dedication to St John Ambulance and the community

Tracey Barker - in thanks for her excellent performances in support of the Raunds mayor
